David is a metal artist. He produced kinetic pieces of sculpture referred to as flying machines in the early 1960s with fellow Erie artist John Vahanian. Many of these sculptures were exhibited around the world. “Form follows function” is a tenet that David has followed exclusively. He feels art should not only look good, it should do something—it should be functional.
